Hello and welcome to this first International Congress on freediving at the Université de Lorraine.

This Congress would not be possible without the effective support of the University of Lorraine, the Faculty of Sports Sciences and AIDA International, as well as all the volunteers and students whom I would like to thank.

We will have the pleasure of welcoming the best scientists of the moment to enlighten us on various themes related to apnea, such as physiology, physiopathology and apnea training. Some of the presentations will also focus on the psychology of freediving and the environment.

The event is also delighted to welcome a number of freediving champions, including Guillaume Néry, Arthur Guerrin and Fred Buyle, all of whom will be keen to share their experiences with the general public.
