Hello everyone and welcome to the first edition of this International Congress on Apnea at the University of Lorraine.

This first edition would not be possible without the effective support of the University of Lorraine, the Faculty of Sports Sciences and AIDA International, as well as all the volunteers and students whom I would like to thank.

We will have the pleasure of welcoming the best scientists of the moment to enlighten us on various themes related to freediving, such as physiology, physiopathology and freediving training, and a section will be dedicated to the psychology of freedivers and the environment.

The event is also delighted to welcome a number of freediving champions, including Guillaume Néry, Pierre Frolla, Arthur Guerrin and Fred Buyle, all of whom will be keen to share their experiences with the general public.
